The DOA faithful at the Drill House in Great Yarmouth had their party mood dampened thanks to the Cult of Hyde. In a show that was in honor of DOA legend and host Peter Nixon's up and coming wedding, Jack E Hyde's cult came out on top in controversial circumstances. First of all, cult leader Jack E Hyde had to go one on one with Hot Stuff, in a match that was made by Bookerman Alec Burnitt back in May. The downside of this was Hyde was that all cult members were banned from ringside. Hyde took an opportunity to get the early upper hand when he sent Puppet Poole out to the ring dressed up as him to distract Hot Stuff.
This allowed the real Jack E Hyde to attack Hot Stuff from behind to get the match underway. Hyde kept Hot stuff grounded before the match spilled to the outside, and with one sneaky kick preventing Hot Stuff getting back in the ring, the match went to a count out handing Hyde the victory. However, Hot Stuff pleaded with host Peter Nixon to restart the match with a no count out rule, and it was agreed so the match got back underway. Hyde was desperate and then got himself disqualified by using a low blow. Hot Stuff was having none of it and again requested a restart which was agreed with a no DQ ruling. Hyde was running out of ideas and eventually his cult members the NLP, Moldark and Puppet Poole hit the ring and jumped Hot Stuff, sending the match to a no contest.
Hometown heroes Big Joe and Brett Semtex then ran out to the rescue and cleared the ring. It was then declared that the tag team championship main event contest between them and defending champions NLP would get underway. Despite being rivals in the past, former Heavyweight champions Big Joe and Semtex worked well together and were on the same page as they set out to take the tag team titles from NLP. The match was a no DQ match and things started to take a hardcore turn as a range of weapons were used throughout.
After a grueling battle, it appeared that Semtex had won the tag team championships after downing Crowley from the NLP with a sit out tombstone. He got the pinfall and the referee declared that Brett Semtex and Big Joe were the new champions. However, the NLP protested and the assistant referee noticed that Crowley's foot had been on the rope when he was pinned. The match was restarted and NLP took full advantage of Semtex and Joe being distracted as Crowley hit a diving cross-body and pinned former MMA fighter Brett Semtex.
The NLP had only just escaped champions by the skin of their teeth and left the ring quickly. They then had an exchange of words with Big Joe and Semtex who had remained in the ring. Big Joe attempted to get them to continue the fight but the cult members declined and headed backstage leaving Joe, Brett and the crowd very frustrated that new tag team champions had not been crowned.
Since the masked Sunset Rider emerged earlier this year, there has been a bounty placed on his mask by Lord Steven Farrell who is determined to prove that Rider is infact Sunset Skip. The Cult have been attempting to take that bounty by taking the Rider's mask. Moldark was the man stepping up for the cult at Beach Ball Mania as he went one on one with the Sunset Rider. Moldark recently had some huge victories under his belt but the big monster could not keep the Rider down despite help from Jack E Hyde and Puppet Poole. Rider managed to hit his crossbody and take another victory, and more importantly keep his mask.
Heavyweight Champion Brad O'Brien was defending his unofficial Social Media Championship in a triple threat match against Vinnie Kray and the Banker Marc Lloyd. O'Brien who had fellow Family member/Womens Champion Leia Elise in his corner, looked on good form but was given many scares throughout the match. Lloyd who is the Go 4 Glory briefcase holder is on top form since winning the briefcase and was out to settle an old score with O'Brien. All three men had chances of victory but the momentum fell to the Banker who downed Kray with his boot to the face. As he was about to pin him for the three, O'Brien ran in from behind and tossed Banker out of the ring. In true sneaky fashion, he then pinned Kray himself and was victorious.
O'Brien had quite the scare after the match though when Marc Lloyd got back in the ring and downed him with a boot to the face. Being cheered on by the crowd, it appeared as if he was about to cash in the go 4 glory briefcase on the champion. However, before it was made official, a very frustrated Vinnie Kray hit Lloyd with a stunner and O'Brien escaped the ring. It is certain he will now be looking over his shoulder.
Dillon Slade has been on a bit of a losing streak since losing the DOA tag team championships along with Danny Darko. He has been determined to prove himself as a singles wrestler and Beach Ball Mania handed him a huge opportunity to do so as he faced British Wrestling James Mason. The match was a purist wrestling fans dream as Mason used a number of holds and submissions to wear down Slade. Slade gave it his best shot though and had moments where he nearly caused an upset but it was not enough to stop him tapping out to one of the greats - James Mason.
Hex had a task on his hands as he defended his Pandemonium title in a gauntlet match. The first person up was Puppet Poole who he made light work of. Next up was more of a challenge for the monster as he went face to face with fellow big main Alton Thorne. Hex was about to hit his signature chokeslam on Thorne but Thorne kicked him down below resulting in a disqualification. Thorne continued the beat down which appeared to leave Hex down and out, prey for the next man in the gauntlet which was Joey. Joey thought it would be easy but Hex suddenly sat up much to the youngsters surprise. Alton Thorne who had remained at ringside supporting Joey later got involved when the referee was not watching and hit Hex with the title belt which allowed Joey to pin him. Hex was out and a new champion would be crowned. Atremis was the final entrant in the gauntlet as she set out to become the first female Pandemonium champion. Against all odds, she managed to take out Joey and was crowned the champion much to Joey and Alton Thorne's surprise.
Meanwhile, Sir Ryan Mathews has been looking to get back to winning ways ever since he won the Adrenaline cup last year. Matthews went up against Franco Fate who was making his first appearance in DOA. Despite Franco being side tracked by helping Peter Nixon celebrate his stag do in style with some drinks, he still managed to defeat Sir Ryan who again found himself defeated. What will Sir Ryan do next to try and climb the ladder and get a shot at the Adrenaline title?
