Where it all began..
DOA Wrestling was the brain child of founder Alec Burnitt who for sometime had been looking to create a unique wrestling company offering value for money family entertainment. After months of hard work, he turned the idea of DOA into a reality with the launch of its first show at the United Services club in his hometown of March, Cambridgeshire in 2013. It was a packed show with the first set of DOA champions being crowned, Special Edition (Kip Sabian and Brad Slayer) became the tag team champions, meanwhile Zac Zodiac was crowned the first ever DOA Heavyweight Champion. This show built the foundations of DOA and for the first year of operation, The United Services Club in March was the home of DOA with all shows coming from there.
It was not until November 2014 when DOA started to branch out to other areas and started to run shows in Suffolk, slowly building up a loyal following. In 2015, DOA arrived in Great Yarmouth for the first time, a town that it would later go on to call home, although things have changed a lot since then. DOA used to be held in the Lichfield Community Centre whilst it started to grow a local following. In the years that followed it started to out grow the venue and that is when it moved to the current venue in Great Yarmouth, the quirky Drill House.
Over the years, DOA has continued to expand and has been consistent in offering top value entertainment to audiences across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. In addition to consistent home grown talent, a number of UK and over seas stars have featured on DOA shows including - Jody Fleisch, Doug Williams, Jonny Storm, Luke Hawx and Hernandez.
Today, DOA has built up a colorful and action packed history and has five official championships - Heavyweight, Woman's, Adrenaline, Tag Team and Pandemonium. The shows are broadcast by FITE, and feature a range of regular consistent DOA talent along with guests from across the country and beyond. A milestone show came at the Drill House in Great Yarmouth on the 7th October 2023 when DOA celebrated its 10 year anniversary in front of a packed audience.
