Hello everybody and welcome to my brand new column for DOA Wrestling. We'll be revealing exclusive announcements and news updates right here as well as on our social media platforms. I'll be conducting articles and interviews here as we progress to each and every event but at this moment I'd like to take the time to look back on 2018.
It's been an even busier one for DOA and without a doubt the strongest and best year so far with events such as Yarmageddon 12, Beach Ball Mania and Jingle Brawls. We had a fierce brother vs brother rivalry come to a conclusion in the form of Jack E Hyde and Alexander Hyde who brutalised each other up and down the country for DOA, some great laughs we had such as Beach Party Death Match and Christmas Strong Style 2 but we closed out the year saying goodbye to one of British wrestling's greatest characters and former Adrenaline Division Champion, 'The Banker' Marc Lloyd who put on the match of the year with former Heavyweight Champion 'The Antisocial' Ash Draven. Draven has had his run ins with the 'Bookerman' Alec Burnitt over the past year where we witnessed a change in personalities from both individuals, especially Mr Burnitt who now has his army watching his back every step of the way that includes the DOA Tag Team Champions Rebellion, Adrenaline Division Champion Ashley Dunn and Heavyweight Champion Danny Darko!
Speaking of Darko, his rivalry with Charlie Winston is just the beginning, we all know that the 'British Giant' should rightfully be the new Heavyweight Champion by now but of course, 'Bookerman' had other ideas. The two ended up eliminated during the 4-4 tag team match when both Winston and Darko brawled to the back. Although Winston currently plans to travel abroad for the next month or so he has vowed that he'll be back to settle a few scores!
The DOA women's division has grown from strength to strength in 2018 and leading the way is the DOA Female Wrestler of the Year and current Women's Champion, "Sensational" Maddison Miles! A tremendous competitor who's had some great bouts with the likes of Addy Starr, Stella Sparks, Mia Cortez and Shauna Shay. The competition will grow in 2019 and you can expect some even tougher challengers heading towards the champions way!
So with all that being said, we kick off 2019 with our next show announcements, GO 4 GLORY '19 in Ipswich Bramford Road Scout HQ Saturday February 23rd AND BRACE YOURSELF in Cambridge Storey's Field Centre Saturday March 2nd.
Head over to our events page for more information, I'll be back with more updates and news soon, thank you to each and every one of you for a great 2018 and here's to an even bigger 2019, strap yourselves in, we're in for a ride!!!
