Marc Lloyd has always been up front about his main mission in DOA of late: to save Jack E. Hyde from the path he is on. And the Banker must have been feeling that the chance to save Hyde was now or never following Hyde turning on long-time ally Hex at the end of October in Ipswich.
So when Lloyd took on Jack E. Hyde at the DOA 100 show, he knew that the situation was a desperate one and called for desperate measures.
The match started with the Banker launching his briefcase into Hyde's face. Though Banker's intention was surely to unsettle, to shock Hyde, the result was undoubtedly not what Lloyd was expecting. Hyde was visibly furious and seemed, if anything, to have snapped. He stormed round the ring shouting incoherently, then proceeded to deflect much of Banker's subsequent offence and striking Banker with lethal blows before picking up the win.
Jack E. Hyde would walk his own path for the remainder of the show but Lloyd was notably shaken. In fact, in a postmatch interview, he acknowledged that his mission had failed, that he felt there was no saving Hyde from the path he was on. However, that didn't mean Lloyd is purposeless in DOA. The Farrell Family still casts its long shadow over DOA and Marc Lloyd will do everything he can to stop them.
