Since Lord Steven Farrell started to build his 'army' in 2022, there have been a few changes to the line up of the Farrell Family.  The original formation saw Farrell recruit the heavyweight powerhouses Rex Wylde and Sullivan King who were the team of the Wylde Kings, along with Brad O'Brien who was quickly seen as the jewel in the crown of the Family.  The Wylde Kings dominated the tag team division winning the tag team titles twice before, meanwhile Brad O'Brien had a set back through an injury.  Once O'Brien returned to aid Lord Steven following a match with BG Thrilliams, it was Farrell's mission to get Brad to the top of DOA.  

In the meantime, the Family expanded when they recruited the dominant Women's champion Leia Elise.  Although, Elise was not involved much in the Family's business because she was getting the job done alone, she has always been on hand when needed.  In addition, Sir Ryan Matthews had a brief stint with the group before flying solo after admitting he had used them to get further ahead.  This must have been a blow since Ryan was hand picked and chosen to join the Family ahead of Dillon Slade who had been trying for several months to prove himself.  Slade despite victory over Farrell, always seemed to fall short and he was rejected in humiliating fashion after losing a match where he had to dress up as a shark until the end of 2023.  

By December 2023, The Wylde Kings had lost the tag team belts but in a twist of the tale, against all odds, Sullivan King ended up winning the DOA Heavyweight title on another promotions show which featured then champion Big Joe.  There seemed to be some tension as it was clear Farrell saw O'Brien as the champion, and neither of them appeared with King as he defended the title against Hex at the end of year show.  Rex Wylde was with his tag team partner but ended up messing up and King lost the belt to Hex.  O'Brien and Farrell were quickly on hand as Brad cashed in the Go 4 Glory briefcase on Hex after he had been attacked by the Cult of Hyde.  Finally Brad O'Brien was the new heavyweight champion and celebrated with Farrell and Leia Elise - The Wylde Kings were nowhere in sight.  

Sullivan King was not seen in DOA after this and Rex Wylde was also soon gone after he and Farrell teamed against Hex and Sunset Rider in early 2024.  This left the Farrell Family as a 3 piece, the smallest formation since it had started.  However, both the Heavyweight Champion and the Women's champion were part of the group giving it some sense of domination.  By the middle of the year, Lord Steven Farrell went off on Family business, which later turned out to be a recruitment drive.  Ahead of the 11 year anniversary he promised that the Family always had an ace up their sleeve but did not give anything away.  

Before the 11 year anniversary show started, Farrell met with 'Joe Talks Wrestling' a young interviewer.  Joe was under the impression that Farrell wanted to be interviewed and that's why he had been invited to DOA.  Lord Steven made it clear that was not his intention and started to remind Joe of his past, calling him Joe Anthony and claiming that he had seen who he really was due to old clips on youtube.  Joe assured Farrell he was not that person anymore but the Lord told him he would always be that person.  

When it came to Brad O'Brien's defense against Winston, Farrell was ringside with Brad but this was maybe the biggest challenge yet as Winston is a giant and is the man who had once gone 5 years undefeated.  At one point the referee went down and Winston choke slammed O'Brien but there was no one to make the count.  Farrell saw this as an opportunity and entered the ring intending to nail Winston with the brass knuckles but was caught out as Winston grabbed him by the throat for a chokeslam.  However, before he could hit the move, a hooded person entered the ring and nailed Winston with a chair with little effect.  Winston then attempted to chokeslam him but he sprayed the giant in the eyes with hair spray.  This allowed Brad to hit the TKO and retain his championship yet again.  The hooded man turned out to be Joe Anthony who revealed a Farrell Family t shirt and celebrated with Brad and Farrell.  The Lord declared him "the next in line".  

Joe Anthony was hand picked and early signs show that he is a good fit and hungry to make his new family proud.  He has already won on his debut in Bury St Edmunds as he made an open challenge and defeated Vinnie Kray who answered the challenge.  It was the usual tactics from the Family though as Lord Steven made sure he was ringside to assist his hand picked member whenever he could.  

It seems that with Joe Anthony, Lord Farrell has found someone who will stoop as low as him to get the desired outcome.  He is young and hungry for success, and more worrying, it appears that he will stop at no lengths to make the rest of the Family proud as he has already demonstrated.  It seems he is also loyal as displayed when he confronted Dillon Slade backstage as he squared up to Farrell.  Joe defended Farrell and would not allow Slade to show any disrespect, so the Family nhow have someone who is willing to take get stuck in when there is confrontation.  

With Joe Anthony joining the Family, can they be stopped? Brad O'Brien remains the heavyweight champion, Elise remains the Woman's Champion, that has to be seen as a dominant force in DOA.  

Who would believe it? DOA is about to turn 11 years old, and what a journey it has been.  From the early days of smaller venues up to the present packed out venues with quality shows broadcast on IWTV - As ever, DOA will be celebrating the anniversary in style on October 5th.  The Yarmouth faithful have a packed show to look forward to, with the usual twists and turns no doubt.  

With some matches already announced, it is clear this is shaping up to be potentially DOA's best show of the year.  Whilst focus will be on the current crop of DOA's roster, there is room for some nostalgia too.  DOA's long term fans will be more than familiar with former DOA UK Heavyweight Champion Winston - A man who went five years without a defeat.  In a blockbuster match signed for the anniversary show, Winston will make his big return to DOA and step straight into a match with current Heavyweight Champion Brad O'Brien.  This is a tasty match up, which even if I was a betting man, I would not put a bet on as it could go either way.  

Winston has the size advantage but O'Brien has been on a role over the past year, finding victories even when the odds have been against him.  O'Brien also has the Farrell Family behind him, something that has proven useful in the past.  However, that will not phase Winston and wouldn't it be something if he walked back in to DOA and took the title back that he held for so long? All eyes will be on this huge match.  

Speaking of huge matches, it does not get any bigger than a 10 man tag team match.  The Cult of Hyde minus Moldark who will be replaced by Alton Thorne will go against a team led by the Sunset Rider.  In recent months, Hyde's cult have almost made it a mission to take the Rider's mask away due to their being a bounty on it.  Sunset Rider has laid down the challenge and has stated if he loses, he will unmask but if he wins, then Jack E Hyde mist unmask.  Sunset has some trusty partners by his side as he is joined by Hex, Marc Lloyd and Hot Stuff.  The 5th man is a mystery which raises questions as to who this will be? Will it be someone we know? a new face? a face from the past? who knows.  This match will be a top match but it will be interesting to see how Alton Thorne working with the Cult will work out.  He has only agreed to be in the match due to a score he has to settle with Hex - will that be his soul purpose?  Either way, someone will be losing a mask in this match.  

The show will also mark the return of Ben Jones, the former 'Lad' will go one on one with Sir Ryan Matthews.  This match has history.  In 2023, it was the final of the Adrenaline Cup, Sir Ryan won that match in controversial circumstances and Jones never seemed to get back on track afterwards.  This is a big opportunity for Jones to return with a bang.  However, Sir Ryan is also trying to get a winning run together so this match is equally as important to him.

When Brett Semtex made his DOA debut back in 2022, no one could have foreseen him walking out of the Drill House in Great Yarmouth at the Heavyweight Champion.  Semtex had over come the dominant Winston, no easy feat and something that nobody else had been able to do.  For those who may have thought it was a fluke debut, Semtex went on to dominate in DOA in a long and impressive title run.  Using his MMA background, Semtex built himself into a real force and was never someone to mess with or ever count out as he always had the heart to fight back and never give up.  He was the kind of champion who was respected and represented DOA with pride.  

It all came to an end though when he battled with Big Joe in their second huge DOA match, the first encounter had Semtex walk out victorious.  Big Joe, another formidable force was the first man to put Semtex down in DOA and take the gold from him.  However, then Director of Authority Marc Lloyd instantly signed a rematch between the pair, something that the Yarmouth faithful were very excited about - Semtex Vs Big Joe Part 3, for the title.  Brett Semtex regained focus and got ready for his rematch for the title with an impressive victory over veteran Mike Bird.  He was determined to become the first ever two time DOA Heavyweight Champion, but then fate got in the way.  

The scheduled title match between Semtex and Big Joe was rescheduled as Big Joe was in the states competing in the Tournament of Death, something he went on to win.  Semtex was patient though and awaited the new date for the big title rematch with Joe, but it never came.  In an unexpected twist of events, Big Joe ended up losing the DOA title to Sullivan King at another promotions show, meaning the big rematch was off.  This must have been a bitter blow to Semtex who had been waiting and preparing for that big chance to take back the Heavyweight title.  

Brett was not seen for the first few months of 2024 in DOA but then was offered a big opportunity which he took.  Due to the fact his scheduled rematch with Joe was cancelled in the first instance, he went into a three way match at Clash at the Cresset with both Big Joe and H Hood.  This match was for a shot at the Heavyweight Championship at Yarmagedon on May 4th. Many wondered if Semtex would be well prepared for this one but he again overcame the odds and pinned H Hood after a huge F5, earning himself the title shot.  

It has all gone a bit full circle and Semtex's journey to get back into the title scene has been full of set backs, mostly out of his own hands.  However, in Great Yarmouth on Saturday night, I expect we are going to see Brett Semtex more focused than ever.  He has worked hard to get back to where he rightfully should be in DOA and he will want to take full advantage of the situation.  What stands between him and the title now is the current champion Brad O'Brien.  These two have never met in a DOA ring and this will be a really interesting match up, with a contrast of styles.  We know that O'Brien has won his recent title matches with a helping hand, and Semtex will also know that as he will have him scouted.  We know Brett backs down from no one and we know O'Brien will do anything to keep the title, therefore this match cannot be missed! 

Can Brett Semtex become the first ever two time Heavyweight Champion or will Brad O'Brien put a stop to that using any means required?  Do not miss this explosive title match! 

With DOA's contract with Fite/Triller TV now expired, we are excited to announce that we have moved to IWTV (Independent Wrestling TV).  The current unreleased shows dating back to mid 2023 will all be released in bulk on IWTV in addition to DOA's back catalog, all of which you can watch on demand.  Then going forward, all up coming shows will be released directly to IWTV. 

We are really pleased to make the switch as IWTV, as its name suggests, is a station dedicated to wrestling and this really should help us become available to even more wrestling fans.  We are awaiting the date of when all shows will become available and will update you all in due course.   

After what went down in Ipswich last week, it is hard to over look just what exactly is going on at the minute in DOA.  Something which started so slowly and innocent last year has developed into something which now cannot and must not be understated.  I still remember that show in Ipswich last year when AK attempted to ask Jack E Hyde what had just happened after he seemingly turned his back on long time best friend Hex.  Hyde had no comment and simply handed AK a flyer as he stood side by side with an unknown masked man who had just attempted to take out Hex.  The flyer was some kind of advert for a cult but at this point it all seemed innocent enough. 

However, something was clearly brewing and Jack E Hyde waited until the end of December's show in Great Yarmouth before striking again.  Hex had just won the DOA heavyweight championship in his home town, it was a huge moment, a career defining moment for the big man.  Hyde should have been by his side in that moment celebrating.  Instead he came out to the ring and watched on as two big masked brutes went on to attack Hex.  Jack just watched on, even when these two brutes went too far and smashed a chair over his former friend leaving him out cold.  This allowed Brad O'Brien to cash in his Go 4 Glory briefcase moments later as Hyde just watched on with his two masked men. 

It has been revealed now that the two masked men in question are in fact tag team N.L.P and they will make their in match debut this coming weekend at DOA Blaze of Glory in Great Yarmouth.  It seems that Jack E Hyde has some kind of pull over these two, and has maybe even brainwashed them - after all, that is what a cult leader does, and Jack E Hyde sure is a cult leader.  Last week in Ipswich, he kept out of Hex's way but still managed to manipulate the promising up and comer Danny Fear after making him pass out in a match.  Hyde handed him a mask and they left together, this suggests the recruitment drive continues.  

It is hard to speculate as to what Jack E Hyde's end goal here is.  He has always had an air of mystery about him but there must be a motive.  He has started a cult and people seem to be jumping onboard every single show, which is worrying.  This cult have no limits and we have seen how far they will go to cause maximum destruction - just ask Hex if you dont believe me.  These are dangerous times and everyone in DOA must be on high alert as this recruitment drive is well and truly underway.  

What is this all about? I am sure things will become clearer in the coming months, but for now, be very weary of the Cult of Hyde.  

For months now, evidence has grown that the Adrenaline Championship is cursed and events at DOA 100 did nothing to dispell those rumours.

Of the last three champions, AJ Benjamin lost the title without getting pinned, Cali Gray lost the title on his first defence, and Ty Hazard lost the title back to Benjamin, also without getting pinned. 

Yet it was still a shock when Boogie took the microphone following his tag match earlier in the show to announce that he was vacating the title. As a result, the five-way Adrenaline Rush scheduled for later in the show between Dillon Slade, Ty Hazard, Sam Santari, Furio and Josh Spicer was given the added grandeur of crowning a new Adrenaline Champion.

The match was a thrilling affair with adrenaline running high throughout both the conpetitors and the crowd. High flying maneuvers, death-defying thrills and spills, and fast-paced exchanges kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. It was Furio who picked up the win and was crowned the new champion.

When asked post-match what he thought about the curse, Furio said nothing - though he said nothing to any of the questions he was asked. In fact, his interview raised more questions than answers. First and foremost amongst these is whether the curse of the Adrenaline Championship has finally been broken. To answer that, make sure you tune into or attend our next show.

Marc Lloyd has always been up front about his main mission in DOA of late: to save Jack E. Hyde from the path he is on. And the Banker must have been feeling that the chance to save Hyde was now or never following Hyde turning on long-time ally Hex at the end of October in Ipswich.

So when Lloyd took on Jack E. Hyde at the DOA 100 show, he knew that the situation was a desperate one and called for desperate measures. 

The match started with the Banker launching his briefcase into Hyde's face. Though Banker's intention was surely to unsettle, to shock Hyde, the result was undoubtedly not what Lloyd was expecting. Hyde was visibly furious and seemed, if anything, to have snapped. He stormed round the ring shouting incoherently, then proceeded to deflect much of Banker's subsequent offence and striking Banker with lethal blows before picking up the win.

Jack E. Hyde would walk his own path for the remainder of the show but Lloyd was notably shaken. In fact, in a postmatch interview, he acknowledged that his mission had failed, that he felt there was no saving Hyde from the path he was on. However, that didn't mean Lloyd is purposeless in DOA. The Farrell Family still casts its long shadow over DOA and Marc Lloyd will do everything he can to stop them.

'sDOA is set to end 2023 on a high as it heads back to the Drill House in Great Yarmouth on Saturday 9th December for its 100th show.  What a milestone this is, but lets not forget that the last time DOA was at the Drill House back in October, it was another milestone - the 10 year anniversary.  As usual that show was a roller coaster of emotions, but the lasting image for me was that one of Sunset Skip sat looking dejected in the ring as his time in DOA came to an end.  

Sunset Skip without doubt has been one of the most colorful and fun characters to ever step foot in DOA, or british wrestling as a whole it could be argued.  This is a man who has given everything to please the fans and has always had that cheeky look in his eyes.  Whenever Sunset Skip's music hit, you always knew some magic was going to be created.  This is a man who has seen and done it all, a man who learned his craft back in the old days of the territories. 

There's many a story he could tell, in fact too many to even detail in one article.  Lets not forget he is the only wrestler who has ever been offered the presidency of the United States, a chance he ended up declining, probably because he was so focused on wrestling.  Legend has it he even once wrestled Hulk Hogan at Maddison Square Garden for the old WWF title - a match he won but sadly it was never recognised in the history books.  I guess that moment of magic will only ever be remembered by the packed crowd who shuffled into the Garden that warm summers evening back in 1984.  Whilst visiting the states a few years back I did see some guy walking around wearing a T Shirt proclaiming 'I was there when Skip beat Hulk'.  Oh, and did you know he is the only wrestler in the world to wrestle inside of a volcano? That may explain his glowing tan.

With this kind of history, it hardly seems fair that Sunset Skip's time in DOA came to a crashing end in the manner that it did.  So who is the culprit or the culprits behind the demise of Sunset Skip? Lets take a little trip back to 2022 and look at how things escalated between Sunset Skip and the Farrell Family led by Lord Steven Farrell.  It is vital to know the history here to fully understand exactly what happened back in October. 

It is May 2022 and Sunset Skip has a little run in with the Beach City Blondes (Sam Santari and Jaiden Docwra) who at the time were aligned with Lord Steven Farrell.  It seems the Lord took some of Skip's comments personally and ended up costing Skip his match against Danny Darko that evening.  However, Skip was having none of it and made sure he had the last laugh as he downed Farrell with a trademark bionic elbow.  This was the perfect set up for a match between the pair in August of that year and on that hot summers night, everyone was behind Skip.  This was a turning point though as it was the night when the Farrell Family as we know it started to come together.  The brute Rexx Wylde caused a major distraction during the match which allowed Farrell to knock Skip out with the brass knuckles and get a very cheeky victory. A feud lasting over a year had begun.

Skip was not going to let things lie but his problems got bigger when the Family started to grow and Brad O'Brien was introduced as their new Jewell in the crown.  Whilst at another promotion, Skip was suddenly jumped backstage by a masked man and his prized Pan Arabian Championship was stolen.  It came as no surprise that O'Brien suddenly started to parade around with the belt and revealed he was the masked attacker.  It was getting all quite overwhelming for Skip, not only did he want revenge on Farrell for the match in August, he wanted his belt back from O'Brien.  At the 9 year anniversary show he had the opportunity to at least even the score with Lord Steven as they both featured in a big 6 man tag team match.  Again, Skip had the match won but whilst the referee was distracted, Brad O'Brien slid in the ring and nailed him with his own belt.  Skip had been cheated yet again and the feud had to continue as the Family really had become a thorn in his side. 

Skip had a huge chance in March 2023 to not only get one over on Brad O'Brien, but to finally get back his Pan Arabian title, a belt that O'Brien had since renamed the Social Media championship.  It appeared to be Skip's last chance and he went into that match with a score to settle, but further underhanded tactics made him fall short yet again.  O'Brien was able to parade around with the so called Social Media Championship, and Skip was a bit lost without it.  However, he started to fight back despite the numbers always being against him and finally defeated Farrell in a singles match which was appropriately a brass knuckles on a pole match.  All he then needed to do was finally get his hands on O'Brien to get that belt back. 

The veteran had to wait until the second half of 2023 though when DOA came to Bury St Edmunds.  O'Brien had been out injured and so Skip was the first man in the line to request a match with O'Brien for the championship once it was confirmed he would be back in action.  Prior to this, Sunset Skip had enjoyed a big victory as he had won the Go 4 Glory briefcase meaning he could cash in on any championship.  He intended to use this prize to get back what was his but it was not valid as the Social Media championship was not (is not) a recognised official DOA championship.  There was a Plan B though and O'Brien agreed to put the title on the line if Skip put the briefcase on the line.  There was no hesitation and it was all or nothing for Skip as the two men went head to head yet again, in a feud that had spanned over a year at this point.  

It was not to be and yet again the numbers game was too much for Skip and a distraction from old rival Lord Steven Farrell who was ringside with O'Brien cost him the match.  Everything had gone full circle and something had to give ahead of the 10 year anniversary show which is where Skip was set to battle Farrell yet again after the match was made by then Director of Authority Marc Lloyd.  At this point, Skip would still do anything to get back his prized belt and Farrell agreed to defend the Social Media championship on O'Brien's behalf, but yet again there was a catch.  This time Skip had to put his career on the line! 

Never one to back down, Skip agreed and the pressure was on when he walked out at the Drill House.  They say history never repeats but the way it all unfolded looked very familiar, Brad O'Brien yet again being involved in the downfall of Skip as Steven Farrell pinned him to bring down the curtain on his time in DOA.  As Farrell and O'Brien celebrated, the usual cheery figure of Skip sat in the ring attempting to come to terms with what had just happened.  It was a sad sight and even in his post match interview with AK, the glint in the eye of Sunset Skip had gone as he talked about now riding off into the sunset.    

So who really was responsible for this downfall? Both O'Brien and Farrell have been a thorn in the side, and probably as bad as each other.  However, lets look at the facts here, Brad O'Brien is the one who has taken everything from Skip - first his prized title, then his go 4 glory briefcase, and then finally, he caused the distraction for the big defeat.  Brad O'Brien has got a lot to answer for now because there is no denying that the absence of Skip is going to leave a large black hole in DOA.  There was a special bond between him and the fans, so lets pay tribute to the man himself - Sunset Skip. As he rides off into the sunset, his legacy remains and we will always look back with fondness when we think of Sunset Skip! Thank you Skip!
