There were shocks around every corner for DOA fans leading in to the companies milestone 100th show. At another organisation in the weeks prior, Heavyweight Champion Big Joe put the championship on the line and Sullivan King showed up and ended up winning the title. No one expected King to walk in to the 100th show as champion, but he did, and he made an open challenge to anyone as his first defence. Heading into the main event and not knowing who would accept, King spoke to AK in a backstage interview and seemed confident, although he was rattled when asked if he would be seen as a transitional champion. It seemed he had everything to prove and did not care who he would be facing as he promised to end the night still DOA Heavyweight Champion.
Sullivan King walked to the ring alone after Farrell Family leader Lord Steven Farrell was banned from ringside earlier in the night. The Drill House in Great Yarmouth erupted when it was hometown hero, the cursed monster Hex who walked out to accept the challenge. The battle of the heavyweights got underway and as soon as it seemed Hex was about to get the upper hand, King's tag team partner Rexx Wylde made his way out and got involved in the match. It all went wrong though and he accidentally nailed Sullivan King which ultimately allowed Hex to choke slam the champion and pin him. The fans went wild as finally Hex had become the new DOA heavyweight champion, something no one could have predicted going into the 100th show.
It seemed the big moment was going to become very heart felt when Hex's long term best friend and tag team partner Jack E Hyde made his way to the ring, seemingly to congratulate his friend. Hyde has been acting even more strangely than usual in recent months and that did not change here. It seemed that perfect moment as two long time friends stood side by side, but Hyde then turned away as two hillbilly looking big men hit the ring and attacked Hex. The attack was brutal as a chair was smashed over the new champion and Hyde just looked away the whole time. After the attack was over, the two big men stood with Jack E Hyde and they started to throw around flyers about a cult - the same ones seen at a show in Ipswich back in October. The new champion's night was ruined but it was about to get a whole lot worse.
After the brutal attack, Hex lay lifeless when suddenly Brad O'Brien's music hit and he raced out alongside Lord Steven Farrell. O'Brien handed his go 4 glory briefcase to the referee as Farrell shouted that Brad was cashing in. The match was made official and despite having difficulty turning Hex on to his back, Brad O'Brien pinned him to become the new DOA Heavyweight Champion - the third champion in the same show! Finally the Family's plan had come together and O'Brien enjoyed every moment celebrating in the ring holding up his new title along with the Social Media Championship - despite being in the business so long, this was O'Brien's first Heavyweight Title. Leia Elise the Women's champion and fellow member of the family joined O'Brien and Lord Steven in the ring to celebrate and the three stood side by side - dominant.
It was quite a change in mood for O'Brien who had earlier teamed with Rexx Wylde to take on the returning legend Hot Stuff and Adrenaline Champion AJ Boogie Benjamin in tag team action. Wylde was pinned after being downed with an X-Factor followed by Boogie's trademark frog splash from the top. It was a perfect return for the legend Hot Stuff who was on the winning side. However, there was an announcement from Boogie after the match. He was thankful for the DOA fans and the love and support he had been shown since arriving in DOA last year. He went on to state he could no longer commit to the DOA schedule and therefore felt it was appropriate to give up the Adrenaline Championship, the same title he had only won back in October.
Lord Steven Farrell who was leaving ringside with Brad O'Brien at the time overheard this and made his way back to the ring. He went face to face with the Boogie man and asked who had made him the authority. Farrell added there was no authority since Marc Lloyd quit being the DOA and perhaps he should take on the role. Boogie informed Farrell there was someone in charge and it turned out to be the Bookerman Alec Burnitt. The fans cheered as Burnitt confirmed this and Farrell was shocked and dismissed from the main event whilst Alec went on to state the now vacant Adrenaline title would be decided in the 5 way adrenaline rush match later in the show.
Sir Ryan Matthews who was the adrenaline cup winner, laid claim to the title saying he should have a one on one opportunity but would win regardless. He had stiff competition as the match also featured former Adrenaline Champion Ty Hazard, veteran Furio, new comer Josh Spicer and Sam Santari, who had demanded a match at this show. It was Furio who stole the victory and became the new champion. AK later asked him about the curse which again seems to have struck but Furio had no comment.
Since making his big return to in ring action, Banker Marc Lloyd has been on a good run and came up against Jack E Hyde with the opportunity to become the pandemonium champion. Despite getting a good start as he launched his briefcase at Hyde, Banker could not keep up the momentum and fell short, as Jack E Hyde retained the title.
Leia Elise continued her dominance over the women's division as she picked up another victory over NYX. This has been quite a run and the question needs to be asked if there is anyone who can possibly bring this run to an end.
The odd pairing duo of Dillon Slade and Danny Darko held on to the DOA tag team championships yet again as they defeated another odd pair in the form of Blue Pain and Truman Roswell. More miss communication between Pain and Roswell allowed Slade and Darko to capatalise and have their arms raised. After the match, Truman Roswell was furious with Blue Pain and had some choice words for the masked monster when he was interviewed by AK.
Meanwhile, Brett Semtex had expected to spend this show battling for the DOA Heavyweight Championship against Big Joe, but due to the shock title loss of Joe, the schedule was changed. Instead, Semtex had the opportunity to battle Ricky Knight Jr for the Progress Atlas Championship - a title held by Ricky in Progress wrestling. Despite the support of his hometown, Semtex was unable to win the title although he did come very close. There is no doubt that Brett Semtex will now be looking to climb the ranks of DOA again and finally get his rematch for the title he had held for so long up until August.
